My speech to the Board of Supervisors
Feb. 10, 2009

"My name is Geoffrey Mangers.

I have come here to make my case and sue for my sanity.

And make it public for all.  On publicforall.com.

Sometimes money isn't the problem.
Sometimes money IS the problem.

And I think some in your past (hopefully not present) might have done better with less of it.

The case number is 1-08-CV-109152.  The CMC date is March 10 at 3pm in the Superior Court.

I have called and called.  With little, if any, results and am out of time and so now must record all my calls.  Because it's the only protection an unrepresented litigant has.  I need organisation charts with un-ambiguous lines of supervision.  With all their full names.  Preferably certified by their original custodian.  And know who will join me under Section 382.

Thank you for listening."

Everyone is allowed one minute to make a statement in front of the Board of Supervisors.  I arrived there around 9:30am and filled out the request form asking to know if anyone on the Board of Supervisors might wish to join me under Section 382 of our Civil Code of Procedure.  Which I then gave to someone I see in my notes named Maria (which I now gather must have been Maria Marinos, the Clerk of the Board) who seemed very pleasant and understanding as I explained that I was feeling a bit nervous and apprehensive speaking in a new environment and who later told me I would be going first (which helped to solve my problem immensely).

I gave my speech and sat down.  As everyone else continued with theirs.  During which someone politely and quietly surprised me on my right asking me what my issue was.  So I gave her a copy of my suit.  For which I was immensely grateful that someone had finally expressed an interest in knowing about.  And I think this was Lori Pegg (county co-counsel) because she looked like the person who was missing behind the podium at the time with her name on it and showed up later behind it.  What's interesting to me is that County Counsel seemed to have no idea at all about my suit since I had already given the case number and CMC dates to them on at least two previous occasions over the telephone.
